You begin by showing 6 cards. The spectator is asked to remember one card. The packet is squared as they continue to think of their free selection.

Now one at a time the cards are shown front and back, as they are dropped onto the spectators hand. The chosen card is gone! You now ask the spectator what was the mentally thought of card. With your completely empty hand you pull out the card from your pocket.
